Ivan Štúr – a psychologist and university lecturer* 24. VII. 1933, Praha Professor of Psychology Ivan Štúr was one of the reputable experts working in the area of the child and adolescent psychology. He also worked as a practitioner at the Psychological Educational Clinic and at the Hospital with Policlinic in Bratislava for many years. After graduating from the Faculty of Education of the Slovak University in Bratislava (1955) he continued to study psychology at the Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University and graduated in 1960. Ivan Štúr published many academic studies and popular-science articles focused on the issues of childhood and adolescence, families and school interconnections and the key developmental factors. In 1990 he became an Associate Professor, in 1998 he was appointed as Professor of Psychology by the President of the Slovak Republic Michal Kováč. From 1990 to 1995 he was chairman of the Scientific Collegium for Psychology and Pedagogy of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. |
