MUDr. Michal Hubka, DrSc. – cardiac surgeon* 21.IX.1916, Liptovský Mikuláš MUDr. Michal Hubka, CSc. was important cardiac surgery pioneer. He represents all phases of creation experimental cardiac surgery in Slovakia. With his collaborators he elaborates methodology of extracorporeal blood circulation, engaged for cardiac valve transplantation, experimental heart transplantations on dogs and also for pre-surgical preparations and post-surgical after-treatment. Major experimental work he did in Institute of Experimental Surgery of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, later he worked in Institute of Further Education of Physicians and Pharmacists in Bratislava, where he applied on cardiac valves production and transplantation. |
